The proposition
MAGAL Coin is a locally anchored cultural project with the rare honesty to admit that much of modern value begins as a well-presented promise.
The global economy produces heroic quantities of visionary talk, roadmap incense, pitch-deck clairvoyance and founderly certainty, yet it lacks a properly dignified instrument by which to account for them. MAGAL proposes to correct that market failure.
Its conceptual valuation model is indexed to one of civilisation's most abundant renewable resources: bullshit. That does not make MAGAL less candid than ordinary speculative instruments. It makes the paperwork more accurate.
MAGAL is intended to support participation, patronage, events, publishing, archives and selected local experiments across Ballymagaleen. It also serves as an elegant mirror held up to an age in which the promise of value routinely becomes more socially powerful than value itself.
In short: if nonsense can move markets, it deserves a market of its own. MAGAL supplies that market and pretends to regulate it.

The proposed treasury would support festivals, cultural programmes, publishing, micro-grants and occasional acts of magnificent administrative folly. Updates would be issued with a solemnity proportionate to the absurdity.
MAGAL begins under the stewardship of Giles na Magaleen, charged with protecting its philosophical standards and preventing it from accidentally becoming sensible. A council model may follow, should civilisation demand one.

Founder's letter
I have long maintained that civilisation is powered not by coal, oil or even the good turf of our own peninsula, but by wishful declarations typed in confident fonts. The age is thick with schemes, causes, launches and revolutions that have the character of a playbill and the lifespan of a mayfly.
Thus MAGAL Coin.
MAGAL does not labour under the old-fashioned belief that value must always be chained to something vulgar and physical. It recognises a higher modern truth: narrative is a currency, and the finest narratives are those capable of surviving contact with absolutely nothing.
Our object is neither to replace money nor to lecture the world on prudence. It is to support local culture, reward participation, fund experiments and provide a dignified accounting framework for that great international export: strategic fog.
You may approach as a builder, patron, merchant, connoisseur of promising diagrams or simple citizen of the possible. If you come merely because you enjoy the sound of a future arriving at speed, you will hardly be alone.

What would give MAGAL value?Community adoption, cultural usefulness and whatever narrative momentum the market chooses to confer. Confidence may move markets, but that does not make confidence the same thing as intrinsic value.
